The Fundació Llars de l'Amistat Cheshire runs nine centres around Catalonia where it provides the care and help required by people suffering from severe physical handicaps.
The work of the professionals in the Homes is the fundamental pillar which keeps the residencies running on a day-to-day basis. However, the help of volunteers in improving the quality of life of the residents, especially outside the Homes, is also important. Their tasks might include going with a resident for a walk, shopping, or to the cinema, and on many occasions becoming that resident’s very special friend.
